Job Description and Requirements
1. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION Knowledge of aircraft painting applications and materials is mandatory. Must be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of aircraft painting equipment, painting techniques and practices, to include hazardous material management. Must be able to speak, read, comprehend and write English clearly and distinctly. Courses in painting techniques and procedures is preferred. 2. EXPERIENCE Minimum of five (5) years recent experience as an Aircraft Paint Technician is mandatory. Two (2) years experience in C-130 aircraft painting is preferred. 3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES a. Reports to the PDM Dock supervisor as an Aircraft Paint Technician. b. Prepares aircraft structures and components for paint application. Works from drawings, identical parts, or from brief statements of general requirements. c. Mixes and applies paint to aircraft surfaces and components as required. Uses standard and specialized paint shop tools and equipment. d. Performs corrosion control on structural components as needed. e. Inspects completed work for accuracy and quality of workmanship. f. Performs other aircraft-related duties as directed.
