Position Summary:
The Technician – I (Radiology) assist in providing effective, efficient and professional clinical radiology services for diagnostic purposes. This position performs all duties in compliance with all current laws for the protection of clients, health care providers and the general public.
Nature and Scope of Position:

Performs all radiographic procedures and also assist in administrative support activities for the radiology department;

Follows specified instructions and standards for an efficient, clean and safe operation of assigned areas;

Complies with NHA policies and procedures and in particular radiation protection, infection control, safety and quality management;

Operates film processing equipment, maintains computerised records, files and /or reports; uses various software applications to assemble, manipulate and /or format data and/or X-ray reports;

Notices any potentially unsafe practices, set-ups and situations and corrects them or bring them to the attention of the radiology supervisor to ensure the quality of work;

Maintains work environment to enhance safety and quality of radiological procedures;

Performs clerical duties including data entry, labelling samples and filling out various request forms;

Assists in filing and updating radiology records, documents and electronic images for the smooth running of the unit and the department;

Attends/participates in mandatory educational programs as defined by the department policy;

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Specific Accountabilities and Deliverables:

Knowledge of physical and operational characteristics of radiological equipment; understands the principles of medical radiology sciences basing practice on current techniques and scientific knowledge;

Ability to communicate in both Arabic and English combined with the ability to interact and provide excellent customer service to all levels including public and other stakeholders;

Proficiency in MS Office especially the use of Internet as well as operate of a variety of modern office machines and equipment such as fax and copier;

Flexible and willing to work on a shift basis, outside normal working hours and during holidays;

Capable of working different shifts both outside normal working hours and during official holidays;

Works as a team member; Capable of working in any section with males or females or/in any associated / affiliated department outside Medical Commission premises;

Accepts working in exposed and open areas; willing to work with individuals with infectious or communicable diseases.
Related Experience, Education & Training:
-
Bachelors Degree in Clinical Radiology Sciences with a minimum of 2 year experience in radiology and x-ray machines in an accredited Radiology Department or Diploma/related vocation with 6 years of experience;
-
License from the relevant authorities in Qatar as radiation technologist worker is required at the time of application.
