GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting to a Commissioning Lead, the Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for undertaking Pre-operational Testing and Commissioning activities on Site.

NATURE AND SCOPE

The Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) familiarizes themselves with the project drawings, pre-op testing and commissioning procedures, and vendor commissioning manuals. The Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) may be involved in writing procedures for safely taking the plant from a state Construction Completion, through Pre-operational Testing, Commissioning, and then handover to Operations for ramp-up.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

·         Following all Commissioning Safety Rules

·         Understanding the Commissioning Administration Procedures for the project.

·         Breaking the commissioning task into logical steps.

·         Writing clear, concise instructions for how to execute the steps.

·         Incorporating vendor commissioning manuals.

·         Incorporating safe working practices into the Commissioning Procedure.

·         Undertaking Pre-operational Testing activities

·         Undertaking Commissioning activities

·         Execute work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

RELATIONSHIPS

The Commissioning Engineer (Electrical) will have relationships with:

·         Other Commissioning Engineers

·         Vendor Representatives

·         All members of the Pre-operational and Commissioning Teams

·         KNS Operations

DIMENSIONS (Job Requirements - Skills Required & Education)

Required

·        Electrical Engineer or experienced Designer

·        3-5 years experience

·        Pre-operational Testing or Commissioning experience

·        Clear thinker, able to divide a job into small logical steps.

·        Excellent communications skills

·        Excellent written English (commissioning procedures are written in English)

Preferred but not required

·        amiliarity with commissioning preferred but not required.

·        Familiarity with operations in the mining industry preferred but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

·         Job is Site based

·         Project hours are up to 60 hours/week.
