Instrument & Automation Engineer
1 – General Purpose of the Position:
The Instrument & Automation Engineer performs technical and supervisory work in the maintenance and repair of instrument and automation equipments within Al Wathba and Allahamah Waster Water Treatment Plants (WWTP). This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
2 – General Functions:
The Instrument & Automation Engineer supervises and coordinates all activities related to Instrument & Automation equipments including analyzers, PLCs, ….
Supervise all preventive maintenance and insure the good organization of maintenance teams.
Check, maintain and repair various Instrument & Automation equipments.
Enter data in logs, chart and records both manually and by computerized.
Assist in overhaul of equipment.
Contribute in budget preparation, make recommendations for equipments acquisition.
3 – Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with staff to evaluate data and coordinate Instrument & Automation control changes.
Be responsible for all department tools (electronic, electric, mechanic and computers).
Formulate, initiate or recommend new or improved practices and policies; develops plans and procedures to ensure efficient WWTP operation and maintenance.
With the Operation engineerssupervisors, analyze and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules.
Participate the “’Tools box talk” journals and other data and disseminate information to employees.
Participate in the employee performance evaluation.
Respond to emergencies, maintain and update emergency response and risk management plans.
Participate in the development and implementation of CMMS Maxo objectives.
Select, train, motivate and evaluate Instrument & Automation technicians; provide or coordinate trainings.
Insure that procedures and duties are well understood and implemented by each technician.
4 – Employment Standard:
Ability toClear, concise oral and written communication to prepare and present reports to management.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors and the client representative.
Use hand tools, meters, calculators and manipulate machinery.
Perform the duties of the job for the entire workday and occasional overtime (may be required to work evening, night, weekend and/or holidays hours).
Knowledge of
Safe practices and procedures, supervisory techniques, standards and work performance.
Knowledge of WWTP operation practices and procedures would be a plus.
Modern office tools, methods and computer equipment.
Knowledge of safety rules and equipment, including identification of, precautions for, and emergency response to:
Biological and chemical hazards,
Electrical and mechanical hazards,
Asphyxiating, toxic and explosive gases and vapors.
Must be knowledgeable of symbols and standard practices as related to Instrument & Automation.

Achieve all work orders issued from CMMS Maxo.
Achieve CMMS Maxo reports on daily basis.
Maintain all Instrument & Automation equipment reliable all the time and in good condition.
Prepare monthly reports.
Keep suppliers documentations, PIDs, Instrument & Automation preventive maintenance procedures and O&M Technical Manual in very good condition.
