Head Of Infrastructure
Position Summary:
A key member of Leadership team, responsible for leading & motivating the IT vendors team with accountability for Production Support & Service Delivery. The incumbent will also oversee the day-to-day IT operational management as per SLA
Nature and Scope of Position / Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for enterprise wide infrastructure architecture (i.e. servers, storage, databases)
Collaborate to define business requirements and gain buy-in for architecture plans
Review IT procurement, projects and development plans for compliance with IT architecture standards
Develop and communicate security strategies and plans to executive team and business stakeholders
Implement and enforce administration policies, procedures and testing for security infrastructure
Oversee security infrastructure and monitor activity and intrusion detection logs for suspicious activity
System security
Redundancy planning
Scalability planning
Maintenance planning, execution and monitoring
Disaster recovery plans and testing
Monitoring/identification of trends in usage, traffic, storage
Management and monitoring of new system rollouts
End-user administration, updates, deployments and support
Help desk operations and management
IT systems budget planning, management and updating
Oversee performance of IT infrastructure for efficient operation and proactively determine capacity upgrade needs
Analyze and make recommendations for the on-going improvement of the IT infrastructure
Oversee development of bid requirements for infrastructure upgrades and manage selection process
Authorize deployment, monitoring, maintenance, operation and support of all hardware and system software assets
Demonstrable experience and training with Windows O/S and "Active Directory" validation system, TCPIP networking.
Past experience in managing and tracking a significant IT budget.
Ability to manage and lead a team of IT personnel.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ideally should possess knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to) Blade, SAN, TCPIP, Cisco, Symantec, wireless LAN.
Ability to develop a defendable budget and maintain and track corresponding purchases.
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and set priorities.
Must be self-driven, self-motivated, results-oriented, customer service-oriented, while being an effective team player.
General Accountabilities:
To be responsible for the delivery of IT infrastructure services within the business. This will include:
a.The account management of key suppliers including as appropriate the instigation and approval of tasking.
b.Production and maintenance of a continuous improvement plan with agreed targets to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of IT infrastructure services.
c.Managing the IT infrastructure services aspects of business continuity processes to ensure any necessary enhancements are implemented to address identified weaknesses
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: :
I.Education Requirement:
Degree holder in Engineering
II.Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in managing a multi-site IT infrastructure.
