Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS/IT or equivalent, with practical work experience minimum of 3 years
- Practical experience of minimum 2+years in the field of GIS or Geodatabase implementation in an institution or in the government sector/public/private
- Excellent skills of using GIS software such as ESRI products or other related software such as AutoCAD
- Relevant skills or work experience in databases such as SQL or Oracle
- Excellent communications skills Arabic and English
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong tendency to work with high accuracy
- keen to learn, to expand knowledge and to innovate
- Persuasiveness
- Computer literacy
- Team-player with leadership abilities
- Preferred if got any of the below courses:
- Any of ArcGIS Foundational Courses
- Any other courses in Cartography and Map Production
- Any other courses in spatial data analysis
- Any other courses in Geodata editing and production
- Any courses in AutoCAD
Key Tasks:
- Design and operate database infrastucture to store, update and distribute GIS data
- Encourage cooperation and exchange of data, GIS and resources across the Port and others including the modernizing, maintain and transfer of spatial data to help Port planning and implementation of various services
- Make Sure to meet the GIS goals, compliance and quality control data, standards and GIS Technology before acceptance, maintenance and conservation.
- develop and maintain links between the various databases across the Port to ensure the safety of interconnected databases which include GIS data
- Conducting research on planning for identifying, analyzing and resolving conflicting information and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the new information and current GIS data in the Port & Industrial Areas
- document and implement maintenance operations of the GIS data and related business
- Dissemination and analysis of standards and procedures of spatial data long and short term with cooperation Head of GIS
- Provide assistance, technical support to the various sections of the Port departments in the field of GIS for the provision and use of spatial data
- Reporting & Identifying of data errors, analysis and writing scripts to streamline GIS data maintenance and work-flow and management of public GIS database
- Interpretative the specifications and requirements of the GIS files and database in Port systems
- prepare reports on proposed improvements to the data port filed for Head of Geomatics & Planning Dept.
- develop custom GIS applications and integrate existing applications/databases
- Geodatabase design
- Participate in analyzing flow of work for GIS data QA/QC
- Monitor data quality and recommend and implement QA/QC procedures for GIS Team and Contractors
- Analyze project scope and assist the GIS Team in the formulation of criteria for acceptance of contractor's deliverables
- Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Line Manager/Management
