Job description
- Responsible for overall leadership of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) portfolio of accounts and further developing the skills and capabilities of our Pharmacy Benefit Management practitioners.
Core Competencies:
- PBM industry expert comfortable with sharing industry knowledge and best practices across multiple account teams
- Develop teams skills and expertise specific to pharmacy benefit processes
- Lead PBM operational processes meeting existing delivery metrics and expectations for PBM portfolio
- Drive improvements, innovations, and automations to improve operating efficiency for existing PBM engagements
- Lead PBM client visits to support growth of existing and new PBM accounts
- Develop relationship with PBM client counterparts at all levels within their organization
- Manage contract terms and conditions for PBM portfolio
- Performance Management
- Performs regular performance management steps in managing team performance; ensures full compliance to
- the following:
- Daily performance tracking is ongoing; daily, weekly and month to date performance of any and all associates are readily available
- Schedules 1x1 coaching sessions in advance and coaching documentation is accomplished within the appropriate time frame
- Derives data from client system and looks at current inventory levels to establish action items
- Reviews quality data (client audits and desk level audits) and analyzes root causes with team for action planning
- Ensures that goal-setting is accomplished 100% for all associates at the start of the fiscal year in compliance to the annual review process and completion of the annual review process. To drive this, monthly individual goal-setting should also be accomplished
- Forecasts associates who are flagged for enrolment to Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and should have supporting data ready (performance, qualitative as well as coaching documentation)
- Meets or exceeds all performance metrics
- Oversees and coordinate special projects as needed
- Reporting
- Participates in Monthly Operating Reviews detailing major work accomplishments, operations-related issues and risks, performance improvement opportunities, and upcoming activities
- Attends and participates in client level reviews providing guidance to the Service Delivery Lead for each account.
- Accountable with team-specific activities, including productivity reports, attendance logs, end of shift reports, and other operations-related reports
- Maintains updated team contact information, including home address, telephone number and emergency contact
- Accountable in team reporting including service levels, financial performance
- Develops team and individual performance data gathering metrics
- Serves as initial point of contact for procedural and technical issues
Qualifications
- Requirement for a CL6 Practice Lead Role
- 5-7 years PBM experience (pharmacy benefits experience required)
- 10 years operations experience
- Previous outsourcing experience
- Mimimum 5 years of supervisory experience managing a team of at least 200 people
- Experience managing multiple accounts
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Requires problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills
