Responsibilities
The Project Engineer responsibilities shall generally include, but not limited, to the following:
- Providing project engineering support to the Project Director;
- Ensuring compliance with technical specifications, codes and standards (Company and International);
- Monitor PMC and EPC Contractor compliance with contract terms and conditions, advising the PD of any deviations and recommendations for corrective action;
- Ensure that technical and none technical interfaces with Company, PMC, EPC Contractor, Licensors and other third party support is effectively coordinated, taking action to rectify where there is none compliance or issues;
- Act as the Company Risk Coordinator, representing Sonaref at Risk assessments and meetings with PMC and EPC Contractor;
- Monitor progress and performance across engineering, procurement and construction to validate milestone payments and invoicing;
- Actively promote a strong HSSE culture and safe work site;
- Support the Project Controls functions and validation of milestones achieved;
- Provide technical and project engineering input into the management of change;

Ensure that technical and none technical clarifications and questions raised by EPC Contractor are followed up through the PMC in accordance with agreed schedule requirements; andEnsure PMC services are ‘fit for purpose’ and meeting performance level requirement of the schedule and work programmes.
Professional Experience:
- An experienced Project Engineering profession At least 15 (Fifteen) years of experience in construction in the Oil & Gas sector
- The Project Engineer should have effective inter personnel, team building and leadership skills with experience of working in an international/multi-cultural environment. In addition the individual should be ‘results focused’ and capable of performing effectively with a minimum of supervision
- Education:
- The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline from an internationally recognized University or Institute of Technology
- Preferably he will have a membership of a professional institute in engineering and/or project management.
- Language Fluent Portuguese or English
