ROLE TITLE: Schedule & Reporting Engineer (TCN Expat)
SECTION: Project Delivery
REPORTS TO: Superintendent Construction
INCUMBENT: TBA
ROLE PURPOSE |
To support the Superintendent Construction with schedule management and associated reporting of all Construction projects associated with the capital works program of NML – Lihir mining and processing facilities operation. Primary focus will be to provide detailed schedulingsupport to the Construction Team and assist with project reporting.
ROLE DIMENSIONS |
- Develop and update detailed project Construction schedules in consultation with Project Leads
- Drive Project Leads to maintain milestones dates and provide advice on Schedule recovery mitigation options
- Assist in the preparation of Project Concept Documents to ensure schedules and estimates are achievable against work scope
- Maintain the register for Project Concept Documentation
- Takeweekly progress meeting minutes& distribute
- Assist Project Leads with completion and handover documentation in a timely manner
- Schedule work and equipment in SAP
- Develop schedules with appropriate labour allocations and resource level, define and advise on gaps with resourcing.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES |
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
· Deliver detailed schedules to Project Team and Client
· Manage Project Concept Document process flow
· Encourage employees to assume an “Ownership” role in caring for NML property and being cost conscious
· Develop and distribute monthly project flash reports
· Support and liaise with team members on delivery and meeting targets.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
· Assist in the mentoringof national employees and supervisors in their day-to-day performance in leading work groups to ensure that set priorities and targets are being achieved
· Ensure that there is a culture of open communication within all levels of the section and that all employees comply with NML’s policies and procedures
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY
· Ensure all NML employees are fully trained for the work being undertaken and understand NML occupational health and Safety requirements
· Ensure relevant inspections are conducted, non-conformances corrected and documentation is updated and stored in appropriate filing systems
· Initiate, where required and after an appropriate period, a formal review of risks associated with areas of responsibility
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
- Contribute to the sustainable development of Lihir by being conscious of the cultural surroundings NML works in
- Implementing appropriate OHSE processes and procedures where required in direct consultation with the OHSE departments
- Contribute to the identification of the significant risks and impacts related to construction activity including those related to identified applicable legislation
- Record and follow up on any environmental issues or incidents and report those on NML Cintellate systems
QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEk
· An appropriate tertiary qualification and have relevant industry experience is a prerequisite
· A minimum of 5years’ experience in a Project/Construction environment in a planning and scheduling position is mandatory
· SAP proficiency would be highly regarded
· High degree of proficiency in MS Project
· Experience with OHSE within the construction industry
· Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and time management skills
· A good level of competency in MSOffice computer applications
· Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English is essential, with the ability to liaise with all levels of the project team,
· Contractors, Vendors and Clients
· A broad technical knowledge and understanding of engineering / construction objectives and basic principles and terminology
· Be able to function and drive personnel objectives set by the management team
· Ability to deliver and meet project targets set
· Capital forecasting against project schedules would be highly regarded
