Job responsibilities
· Receive job number and establish routes concentrating on availability of company trucks.
· Perform inspection, collaboration with terminal supervisor to ensure proper lashing, load capacity (per axle), COG while loading, safety and reduce damage to trailer and avoid loading errors.
· Ensure vehicle condition meets or exceeds provincial safety standards and that vehicle safety equipment is in place and in good working order.
· liaising and negotiate with transporters, define method of transport, evaluation and recommendations to sales / commercial team for best decision making and report to clients.
· Forming potential solutions and create comparison for cheap transport. Choose right vehicles for long routes which are in good operating condition.
· To participate in conducting tool box talk according to clients instruction and pre-check safety PPE requirements.
· Checks validity of driver’s licenses, truck's MVPI, registration, insurance ensuring always legal documents are valid and up to date.
· Provide GIS footprint knowledge of offloading while truck leaves terminal premises. Respond in emergency situations.
· Communicate with clients, supervisors, and department employees; receive requests, questions, concerns and suggestions and provide routine information and assistance or route to appropriate personnel, distribute mail.
· Create waybill / delivery notes (IACC vehicles or other transporters) and provide documents to drivers. Update check-in/checkout sheets, for each transportation route.
· Ensure to dispatch company drivers, work in accomplished manner, consistent with company requirements.
· Investigate and verify customer's complaints.
· Conduct route survey if require and submit with related documents to Ministry of Transport for MOT permit.
· Submit accident reports in case of any road accident.
· tracking transportation movement to assure on time delivery to customers. Handle client concerns and direct problems
· arrange data on all transportation , driver logs, trip amounts. Record driver's concern , issues and report to terminal supervisor. Attend phone calls from clients and drivers any hour in day.
Maintain an up-to-date listing of trucks and drivers in operation or under repair.· Record accurately truck's mileage for statistical analysis to examine data, driver’s waiting hours essential for cost center. Forecast to improve truck route for fast and safe delivery. Maintain appropriate records.
· monitor vehicle performance and costs by analyzing the data and conduct comparison with similar truck models to identify and take remedial action to reduce costs.
· Poor driver behavior can influence fleet fuel and maintenance costs, therefore an award scheme announcing driver of the month issuing certificate and incentive.
