Task Description:
- University graduate/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronics)
- At least 15 years related professional experience, with at least 5 years in supervisory capacity
- Licensed engineering professional
- Strong knowledge in power plant equipment maintenance (instrumentation and control) DCS Systems, Monitoring and Fault Analysis, DCS System Backups, PLC'S
- Computer knowledge (MS Office)
- Work experience in maintenance instrumentations, controls and its accessories for thermal power plant equipment, incl. boiler and turbine supervisory instruments and controls, spare parts identification and planning & scheduling of maintenance, FGD's and Desalination plant knowledge.
- Strong leadership (planning, organizing, multi level communication) and technical writing skills
Task Description:
- Designs/Develops maintenance strategies, procedures and technical approach; plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance works of team members
- Analyzes breakdown problems and formulate maintenance actions to prevent recurrence, provide technical advice, program and training on DCS related issues.
- Provides technical engineering support and guidance in all major and minor maintenance activities at the plant. The major tasks include:
- Conducts in process and final inspections of completed work; document inspection and final report.
- Reviews and audits I&C maintenance standard procedures to ensure compliance with vendor manual recommendations and standards codes.
- Ensures proper documentation are in place for special maintenance and test procedures associated with I&C l equipment.
- Provides engineering support in instrumentation failures and troubleshooting.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams or formulas and confer with engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards, including compliance with standard codes requirements.
- Oversees quality plans.
- Designs, implements and evaluates maintenance strategies, policies, procedures and methods.
- Supports Maintenance planning to develop plans and schedules for all activities under Maintenance department. Review execution progress and ensure completion on time.
- Reviews spares availability and recommends stock level adjustment and new stocks to ensure economical and safe stock for maintenance work
- Diagnoses breakdown problems and recommend actions to eliminate such breakdown.
- Liaises with client departments.
- Provides technical support to maintenance staff and carry-out quality inspections on jobs.
- Evaluates technically supplier offers for spares and services.
- Participates in maintenance budgeting for five years, monitor and control maintenance costs.
- Reviews Maintenance KPI�s, recommends and follows up actions to achieve the targets.
- Investigates accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings and recommendations
- Reviews the preventive maintenance programs and recommend changes when required to improve the programs. Ensures that PM programs are covering all plant equipment.
- Reviews shutdowns work scopes and standard spares lists to ensure effective scopes for plant reliability.
- Counsels employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Examines objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
- Conducts or arranges for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

Individual Objectives
< >Achieve an average 100% completion of workable work orders related to DCS during quarter, related to DCS system monitoring, trouble shooting and fault analysis, so as backup system.
<!-- -->Achieve an average 100�ficiency reporting of operational incidents(If any) related to alarms, events, trends, process summary recorded in DCS, functionality, create record files of any case, update the status.
<!-- -->Create at least 4 operational and maintenance procedures (approved as per ISO requirements) per quarter, concerning DCS, advice and/or schedule all maintenance activities related to DCS system.
<!-- -->Create at least 5 loop diagrams per quarter for key instruments connected to DCS, indicating specifications and set point. Develop at least 2 training courses and teach others
<!-- -->Communicate all routine, abnormal or emergency DCS* performance with the Maintenance Manager. Discuss Plant/equipment limitations, DCS* requirements, DCS* equipment abnormalities, operator concerns/issues, relations with other department issues and any concern that can affect plant production & operation excellence under the DCS* environment. - Monitor that all DCS* controls are placed in automatic position 100% of the time. Create/acquire a reporting tool to detect control status on the spot and history of switching controllers from auto to manual mode. Develop a health check report.
- When requested to do a modification, first communicate with manufacturer and ask their opinion, investigate operational disadvantages, operational risks, risk on adjacent, upstream or downstream systems. The same as for deactivation of protections on DCS* controlled systems.
- Keep strict control of modifications thru MOC documentation. Update Maintenance Manager with list of activities performed. Prepare operational and functional DCS* procedures. Special interest must be dedicated to the procedure and software required for system recovery. Close control of methodic backup.
- Evaluate DCS* spare parts, actual on hand a min-max value on Ware-House, Spare parts obsoleteness for short and long periods; investigate level of failure in other plants.
- Discuss with control room operators behavior of variables controlled, looks for variables that present a constant instability and investigate/solve control issues.
- Ensure that the company's EHS procedures are adhered to in the area of DCS work.
- Analyze team performance; propose changes, trainings, and tests with the aim to improve operation excellence.
- Plan a training strategy to educate RAWEC Saudi technicians.
- Investigate system improvements.
